Philips Zoom!

The Philips Zoom! manufacturing transfer program required the team at Build by Boyd to optimize a new manufacturing process, install and qualify new equipment, and validate the process. The team also supported the regulatory work necessary to adhere to the Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act of 2022 (MoCRA). We worked closely with our partners at Philips to efficiently complete the process optimization, validation, and regulatory modernization to meet the required product launch timeline.

Philips Zoom! whitening pen is manufactured with a proprietary formulation of various chemicals and liquid media. Our supply chain management team collaborated closely with the Philips team to successfully transfer material sourcing and supply chain management responsibilities alongside the manufacturing operation. The team at Build by Boyd works closely with the Philips team to gather demand forecasts and ensure an adequate pipeline of raw materials for ongoing commercial production. Our supply chain management team qualified alternate chemical suppliers and alternate chemical distributors to support Philips's business continuity requirements. 

Philips successfully launched the Philips Zoom! whitening pen. The new manufacturing operation was optimized for efficiency and provides scale for market adoption and future growth. In parallel with the process optimization and validation, Philips was able to modernize their regulatory documentation and procedures to meet the new requirements of the MoCRA act. Philips is well positioned to scale product adoption and continue its leadership position in dental product innovation.
