Lee, Massachusetts - Boyd Technologies announced today the celebration of its 30th anniversary. The Company was started in 1979 as Boyd Converting Company by founder and CEO Bronly S. Boyd. Today, Boyd Technologies operates out of the same location with expanded capabilities and a growing work force of approximately 65 people. “It has been a thrilling 30 years,” commented Bronly. “Our business was founded in the Berkshires and has thrived from the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship that exists here,” he added. Boyd Technologies manufactures advanced materials used in health and medical, electrical, and consumer packaged goods markets.
In 2007, the Company announced a management transition when Stephen Boyd, Bronly’s son, took over daily operations of the business as the Company’s acting President and COO. Stephen has grown through the ranks at Boyd holding positions in Sales, Marketing, and Research and Development over the last 10 years. “It’s a great privilege, and exciting opportunity, to lead our business into the future,” said Stephen. “Our business has changed over the last 30 years as we have grown into higher technology markets by focusing ourselves on advanced materials and innovation,” Stephen commented.
As part of its transition, the Company has consolidated market communications under the name Boyd Technologies, no longer using its legacy name Boyd Converting Company, and consolidating its apparel brand, Wellington Custom Fabrics, under the Boyd Technologies umbrella.
